Dippy Egg Yolk and Soldiers

I made this when I was missing eggs. Or more accurately egg and soldiers (cause I'm a big kid).

It is super simple. Hardly even justifies a 'Prep Time' below.

Does it really taste like egg yolk? Hmm...no but it is reminiscent. The texture however is pretty bang on.

Also if you want soldiers you know what to do. Bread - meet toaster / grill.

Prep Time and Cook Time - Less than 15 mins all i

Serves 2

Special Equipment - None!

Ingredients:

235 ml water

1 tablespoon cornflour

3 tablespoons nutritional yeast

½ teaspoon ground turmeric

salt and pepper

Pinch or Two of Black Salt if you want it more 'eggy' - maybe put this in at the end.

Instructions:

Put all the ingredients for the dip into a small saucepan. Bring to the boil over a medium heat, whisking constantly, until thickened and glossy. Season to taste.

Maybe add a bit of Black Salt if you want it more eggy. I didn't as I didn't have it to hand at the time but I reckon it would work.
